5 Days City & Guilds Update, Tiling Course-The Construction Skills College, Staffordshire.
Who is this course suitable for?

Our courses are designed for people with previous experience in wall and floor tiling and are attended by people of all ages, both male and female. They are suitable for; people who wish to learn the skills to complete tiling work on their own properties, wish to supplement their income or take the first step towards changing their career. If you are unsure if the course is suitable please visit the our centre when a tiling course is running to speak with both staff and students.
Course Objectives and Certification.

Our tiling training courses are aimed at not just giving you the knowledge and skills in tiling but the confidence to use them. The courses are intensive but taught in a relaxed, friendly and professional manner by experienced tradesmen who are approved by City & Guilds. Our tiling courses can be attended midweek or over consecutive Saturdays. Full support is provided after course completion.;

Upon completion you will receive a Guild of Master Craftsmen certificate of competence.   You will also receive a unit certificate issued by City & Guilds: City & Guilds 6217 Unit 018.

You will cover the following units:

Week 1

    * Wet room installations.
    * Cut, fix and grout mosaic tiles.
    * Cut, fix and grout porcelain tiles.
    * Tiling in different patterns.
    * Tiling on steps.
    * Tiling to flexible surfaces-wooden / ply floors and boxed in pipes.
    * Under floor heating.
    * Tanking wet room floors.
    * Specialist tools and materials used in tiling.
    * Increase speed and confidence of tiling techniques.
    * Understand the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise.
    * Telephone, email and drop in support relating to course contents.
